Abstract

The study was aimed at determining the feasibility of textbooks, especially in
reading learning in grade III of primary schools/ Islamic primary schools. It was a
qualitative study. The data sources were the primary data in the form of textbooks
and the secondary data in the form of literature review to complement the primary
data. The data were collected using observation, text analysis, and literature
review. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman components
consisting of data collection, data selection, data presentation, and drawing
conclusions. The results showed that the Integrated Thematic Books of 2013
Curriculum which consisted of the theme 8 ofPraja Muda Karana; Cemara Theme
8 Praja Muda Karana 3b semester 2; Enrichment Book of theme 8 Praja Muda
Karana of Even Semester; Forum Book of theme 4 My Obligations and Rights in
Odd Semester; and the theme 7 Technological Development had good
feasibilities. It can be seen from the suitability of the sub materials contained in
the 5 thematic books that were in accordance with Main Competence and Basic
Competence. In addition, the feasibility indicators were also in accordance with 4
feasibility criteria, namely content, language, presentation, and graphic
feasibilities.
