Abstract

This study aims to determine the readiness of e-learning in SMP Negeri Kembaran Sub-district using the Aydin and Tasci model and to find out the readiness of school principals, teachers, and students in implementing the e-learning process. The research method was a survey and the instrument was an e-learning readiness (ELR) questionnaire from Aydin and Tasci (2005) consisting of four factors; human, self-development, technology, and innovation factors. The data sources were school principals, teachers, and students. The type of data in this study was quantitative data in the form of ELR scores from research subjects at SMP Negeri in Kembaran sub-district. The results showed that the level of readiness for e-learning at SMP Negeri Kembaran sub-district was in the category of ready to implement e-learning but it needed a slight increase with an ELR X score = 3.41. Besides the innovation factor indicated a low readiness of e-learning implementation with a score of X = 3.14. Moreover, human factors, especially students with an ELR X score = 3.32 also showed a low level of readiness. SMP Negeri in Kembaran sub-district could make improvements according to the proposed recommendations, including schools conducting e-learning training for teachers and students to support the learning process so that both parties could adapt to learning change in schools.
