Abstract

Remote learning was first implemented in SD Negeri 1 Karangjambu, thus teacher preparation was very important before implementing remote learning in order to achieve the learning goals. This study aimed to determine the preparation and constraints faced by high-grade teachers in preparing the remote learning at SD Negeri 1 Karangjambu. This was qualitative research with a descriptive method. The participants of this study were principals and high-grade teachers including teachers of grades IV, V, and VI. The data were collected by interviews and documentation. The results of this study are described as follows: 1) Preparation for remote learning carried out by SD Negeri 1 Karangjambu is holding debriefing activity and socializing applications used in the remote learning, providing facilities and infrastructure, making online learning tools, referring to the syllabus, and finding the proper media. 2) The obstacles faced by the school in preparing the remote learning are IT literacy of staffs, limited quotas, network instability, lack of students' discipline, difficulty in finding proper media, and difficulty in choosing material's priority. Efforts made by the school in overcoming the unstable connection are providing independent learning modules, printing teaching materials, and distributing those to the students when offline learning is carried out.
