The study entitled Analysis of Cohesion and Coherence in Bunga Citra Lestari
Song Lyrics in It's Me BCL aimed to describe the types of cohesion and coherence in
Bunga Citra Lestari song lyrics in It`s Me BCL album. This is a descriptive qualitative
research. Data in the study were in the form of words, phrases, or clauses containing
the types of cohesion and coherence found in the discourse of Bunga Citra Lestari's
lyrics in It's Me BCL album. Sources of data was the text or discourse of Bunga Citra
Lestari's song lyrics in It's Me BCL album which was released in 2017 with 10 song
lyrics. Methods and techniques in the study were carried out in three stages, namely
(a) the method and technique of provision data used observational method with basic
techniques of tapping techniques, advanced techniques with the technique of
Uninvolved Conversation Observation Technique (SLBC) and note-taking techniques,
(b) analyzing methods and techniques data used the method with basic techniques of
Immediate Constituents (BUL), advanced techniques by reading markings and
substitute techniques, (c) methods and techniques for presenting the results of
analyzing data used informal presentation methods. The results of the analysis are as
follows: the types of cohesion on Bunga Citra Lestari's song lyrics in It's Me BCL
album are found in grammatical cohesion, including (1) reference (reference) which
includes (a) personal reference, (b) demonstrative reference, and ( 2) conjunction.
Lexical cohesion, including (1) repetition (repetition) which includes (a) repetition
(repetition) of new forms, (b) anaphorous repetition, (c) epistrofa repetition, (d)
mesodiplosis repetition, (e) anadiplotic repetition, (2) synonymy (equivalent words),
(3) antonym (opposite words), and (4) collocation (sanding words). Semantic
discourse relationships including 1) causal relationships, (2) additive relationship (3)
relationship effects, and (4) parable relationships are found in both types of
coherence in Bunga Citra Lestari's song lyrics in It's Me BCL album.
