The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of Index Card Match
method for teaching English vocabulary at the seventh grade students of MBS
ZAM ZAM in academic year 2018/2019. The research was conducted by using
quasi experiment research. The participants of this research were the seventh
grade students of MBS ZAM ZAM. There were two classes which is class G as
experiment group and class H as control group. Test was used in collecting the
data, namely pre-test and post-test. Furthermore the data was analyzed by using ttest.
Based on the computation t-test result 12.39 and t-table was 1.672. It means
that t-test result was higher than t-table (12.39>1.672). It could be concluded that
Index Card Match was effective in teaching vocabulary on the seventh grade
students of MBS ZAM ZAM in academic year 2018/2019.
