This study tried to find out the perception of MA Negeri Purbalingga’s students on grammar and to find out the factors affecting their perception towards grammar. This research belong to a quantitative one using survey to collect data. The participants of this research were the students at the first grade of MA Negeri Purbalingga in the academic year of 2018/2019. The total of the participants were 318 students of 381 students. The data of this research was collected using closed questionnaire. After analysing the data, the result showed that the students’ perception on grammar was positive, and the factors which made it positive were; first, their previous experience to grammar with 76%, the second, the students’ feelings on grammar with 66%, and the third, the teacher’s grammar teaching method with 72%.
