Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students’ learning autonomy in learning science thematic material in elementary schools. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of SAVI model (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization and Intellectually) on science thematic learning towards the students’ learning autonomy at State Elementary School Sidanegara 05 of Cilacap. The method used in this research was an experimental method in the form of Pre-Experimental Design. This research is in class VI with 30 students.The subjects of the study were students of class VI SDN Sidanegara 05 Cilacap . Data analysis used descriptive qualitative analysis methods, normality test, homogeneity test and paired t test analysis. The results of this study showed that 1) The learning method of lectures, discussions, and assignments in grade VI of State Elementary School Sidanegara 5 could increase students' learning autonomy on science thematic materials. 2) SAVI learning method in grade VI of State Elementary School Sidanegara 5 can significantly increase students' learning autonomy in science thematic material. 3) There was a difference in the average autonomy of students with SAVI learning model in thematic learning of science at State Elementary School Sidanegara 5 of Cilacap.
