The researcher found that the students skill in poetry writing learning was still
low. Therefore, this descriptive qualitative research was conducted to find out their
perception in poetry writing learning in August 2020 in semarang village RT 02
RW 05, Banjarnegara Sub-district which included 15 tenth grade students as the
subjects. The data were obtained using data saturation because there were only
less than 30 informants, while the data collected by open questionnaire,
observation, and documentation. The results showed that the students perception
could be well-built because the teacher was able to optimize the writing learning.
Because writing is really a process, learning must also be a process that students
must go through in order to be able to write. Students’ attitudes towardlearning
Indonesian literary writing should be focused on sharpening their ability to write
with a variety of subjects and messages, bebause poetry allows students to express
themselves and show their characters.
