This research aims to identify the types of satirical figure of speech found in
@nissa_sabyan „s Instagram comment section that were uploaded on January-
February 2021. Theoretically, this research is expected to benefit the enrichment of
insights in language research, specifically in the use of satirical figure of speech found
in @nissa_sabyan „s Instagram comment section and to contribute as reference
materials in stylistic studies related to satirical figure of speech. Practically, the
researcher hopes that the research is to be used as one of the sources of understanding
for other researchers who aim to conduct studies on similar topics. Quantitative
analysis was implemented for this research. The research undergone three stages,
which were data collection, data analysis, and presentation of data analysis. The data
of this research were language items such as words, phrases, and clauses in satirical
forms found in @nissa_sabyan „s Instagram comment section that were uploaded on
January-February 2021. The process of data collection was done with documentation
method, namely the note-taking technique. The data were then analyzed using the
content analysis technique. After the data analysis, the results were presented using
informal method. The results showed that there were five types of satirical figure of
speech found in the data. Those five types were irony, cynicism, sarcasm, antiphrasis,
and innuendo. 11 of the data were classified as irony, 79 others as cynicism, 70 as
sarcasm, 3 as antiphrasis, and 2 as innuendo.
