Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the teacher in a virtual class learning process and how the teacher strengthens the understanding of the material, as well as the problems and the solutions in a virtual class learning process in Grade 6 of Muhammadiyah Sudagaran Wonosobo Elementary School. This study utilized a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and documentation. Based on the results of this study, the teacher's role in a virtual class learning process is to act as a demonstrator, class manager, mediator, facilitator, and evaluator. How the teacher strengthens the understanding of the material was by question and answer method, conclusions drawing at the end of the session, and the use of learning media. The importance of drawing conclusions at the end of the lesson is to see the level of students learning achievement on the material being taught. Problems in the virtual class learning process include the lack of material absorption level, the lack of learning motivation which results in the reduced number of students taking part in the learning activities, and students' understanding and communication tools. These problems can be overcome with various solutions including providing motivations, offline methods, tutorials, and parents or teacher assistance when they do not understand with the material.
