This study aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving abilities of male and female students in the material of Polyhedron in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Jatilawang. This is qualitative descriptive research. Subjects in this study were students of class VIII F. The reasearchers used purposive sampling technique which consisted of 3 students for each group, namely three male students and three female students. The instruments used in this study were tests of mathematical problem-solving abilities and interview guides. The validation test was technical triangulation. The results show: (1) male students were able to master three indicators of problem-solving abilities, namely understanding problems, developing strategies, and applying strategies, and (2) female students were able to master the four problem-solving indicators, namely understanding problems, developing strategies, applying strategies, and reflecting the results obtained.
