This research aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving abilities of eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri1 Bukatejaviewed from personality types according to Florence Littauer. This was a descriptive qualitativeresearch and the samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique. Based on the personality test,students were grouped into 4 personality types, namely sanguine, choleric, melancholy, and phlegmatic. Threestudents from each personality type were taken as respondents. The research data were collected using tests andinterviews. Then the data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model which included data reduction,data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that students with sanguine and choleric personalitytypes were able to understand the problems, plan problem solving, and implement problem-solving plans. Whilestudents with melancholy personality types were only able to understand the problems and plan problem-solving.Moreover, students with the phlegmatic personality type were able to understand the problems, planproblem-solving, implement problem-solving plans, and recheck the steps and the results obtained.
