Abstract

This research was intended to find out what the teachers‟ strategy and their problems in managing EFL classes. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The instruments used were interview and observation. There were three English teachers that involved as participants in this research. Based on the result of study, there were some strategies that used by the teachers to manage English classes. The five strategies are: get set up, make the room attractive, set classroom rules, be enthusiastic about the lessons, and be fair with the students. Besides that, teachers often faced at least four problems of managing English classes: students‟ characters, students‟ level of ability, learning method, learning activities.
