Abstract

The
research was conducted to examine
the effectiveness of Hypnoteaching
technique for teaching writin
g at the second year students of SMP
Muhammadiyah Jeruklegi in academic year 2015/2016. This research
used
quasi
experimental research and had been conducted
during September 2015 until
February 2016. The subject of this research was 50 respondents which w
ere
divided into two groups, namely experimental and control class.
In collecting the
data, pre
-
test and post
-
test were used to find out the effect of the treatment given
to the experimental and control class. The test given
was in the form of essay test.
In analyzing the data, t
-
test was used to obtain the result of the treatment. Based
on the computation, the result of t
-
test was
6.18925
while the value of t
-
table was
1.67722
with df = 48. It meant that the result of t
-
test
was higher than the value of
t
-
table (
6.18925
>
1.67722
) which showed that hypothesis made acceptable.
Thus, it could be
concluded
that
the hypothesis saying that
Hypnoteaching was
effective for teaching writing descriptive text
and the hipothesis was accep
ted.
