The aims of the research were to find out the content including validity
and reliability of the test and the quality of Final test for the first grade. This
research used descriptive qualitative research. The sources of data were final test
items and the students answer sheet. It was found that final test had good validity
because from 50 items only 8 items which were invalid. The reliability was good.
The result of index of difficulty level showed that there were 18% or 9 items
were difficult, 54% or 27 items were medium, 28 % or 14 items were easy. The
index of discriminating power showed that 46% or 23 items were poor, 42% or 21
items were fair, and 12% or 6 items were good. Based on the result, the researcher
suggested the English teachers to try out their own test first in order to know the
test was good and valid before the test given to the students. Therefore, the result
of test could be used to measure the progress of students and it could be a tool to
measure the students achievement.
