Abstract

Learning English is a difficult task for some students, even for the 11th grade senior
high school students.Learning a foreign language is not just memorizing a differentset
of names for the things around us, Different ways can be implemented to gain their
achievement. The most common way to increase achievement is English Course. Based
on this case, the researcher clarifies of English course, English achievement, and the
influence between these variables. The populations of this research are all the 11 grade
students of SMA Muhammadiyah Purwokerto with the total numbers are 120 students.
The researchertook49 students as the subject. The researcher took sample from 2 classes
they are X1 and X2, which each individual has the opportunity to be the sample of the
research. The data was taken from 6 students who fully attended the English course
program and 9 students who rarely attended the English course program. The data had
been analyzed through t-test analysis and the result was 0,771 by Sig. 0,05 and df 13
proved that the English course program did not influence the students’ achievement
