This study aims to discover the use of the Banyumas dialect in daily life especially in the school environment as a cultural heritage of Banyumas. This descriptive qualitative research is carried out to describe, explain, and answer the problems of phenomena and events occurred related to Banyumas dialect. There are several steps taken in this research such as determining the location, time, subject and object of research, conducting the observation, interviewing respondents, and documenting the activities during the research. The results of this study indicate that Banyumas has a myriad of cultures which must continue to exist from generation to generation. The cultures are not only in the form of buildings and food but also the language, namely Banyumas dialect. The use of the Banyumas dialect in daily life for communication at home or school by elementary school students is still very minimal and even more likely not to be used. The use of Banyumas dialect in official activities, especially in learning process, is still limited. The tone of the dialect which seems reckless and impolite makes it rarely used at official and especially educational institutions. Local Content learning process which aims to find out Banyumas' identity and introduce its cultures is not optimal since Banyumas language is not used during the lesson. The process of cultural inheritance is carried out from the early age by the students' families which affect them significantly.
