Abstract
Concrete is a construction which consists of soft and coarse aggregates, water, and Portland cement. This research is aimed at investigating the factors affecting the comparison of compressive strength of concrete made from Serayu river sand and crushed sand made from Serayu river stones. The sample test was conducted in the 7th day with 20 samples (10 variations of Serayu River sand and 10 variations of crushed sand made from Serayu River stones) using the Indonesia National Standard (SNI) concrete conversion table. The planned concrete was qualified as 20.75 Mpa at the age of 28th day. The test result of the compressive strength of concrete using the stone mills achieves the 28th day conversion average of 27.92 Mpa. Meanwhile, using the sand, it achieves the average of 24.32 Mpa. The Serayu River sand with sludge level of 3.74% produces 28th day converted compressive strength as much as 24.32 Mpa, while crushed sand of 2.88% produces 27.92 Mpa. It is revealed that the greater amount of sludge the stronger compressive strength of concrete. The crushed sand made from Serayu River stones achieves a better compressive strength compared to the sand as a soft aggregate to produce normal concrete.
