This research aims to describe the Batak culture element in the novel. The data of the research are in form of text containing Batak culture element in the novel. The research uses anthropology literature approach. Moreover, the method used in this research is descriptive analysis. Reading and note taking techniques are used by the researcher. Data analysis techniques used in this research are: data reduction, data display, data verification and conclusion. The result of this research are Batak culture element in the novel consisting of six elements, those are: (1) language which discusses the words mauliate, sinamot, ucok, tulang, martole, uning-uning, bodat, innang, tarulang atau bera, raja parhata, martandang, guling dao, burja, nariti, and amang, (2) knowledge system about the environmentlike the myth of Batak ancestors, (3) social organization like clan and dalihan na tolu, (4) art system like the statue of sigale-gale, (5) religion system like the religion of parmalim and the belief of gods (dewata), (6) and the system of life equipment and technology like ulos.
