The study entitled "An Analysis on Forms, Functions, and Meaning of Affixes
on Headlines of Radar Banyumas Newspaper in Edition of February 2017 and Its
Implications for Bahasa Indonesia Learning". This is a qualitative descriptive
research. The words containing affixes on news headlines Radar Banyumas are used
as the data of the research. News headline Radar Banyumas in the same edition are
used as the data source of the research. This research is conducted through three
stages namely, stage of providing data by scrutinize method and recording technique.
The data analyzing stage used the distributional method with the technique of
Immediate Constituent analysis as well as the techniques of replacement, construction,
and extension. Formal and informal methods are used in the presentation stage of data
analysis. Some prefixes (meN-, di-, ter-, peN-, and ke-), suffixes (-kan, -an, and -i),
and confixes (ke-an, peN-an, and per-an) are found in this study. The form, function,
and meaning are found in each type of affix. The form, function, and meaning are in
fact compatible with the theory used in this study. Furthermore, the results of this
study can be developed into a exposition textbook material of Bahasa Indonesia
subjects in the eighth grade of Junior High School (SMP) in odd semester because it is
in accordance with Basic Competence (KD 4.6). This competence requires students to
be able to present ideas, opinions into the form of exposition text particularly in the
form of popular scientific articles (environment, social conditions, and/or cultural
diversity, etc.) both orally and written with regard to the structure, language element,
oral aspect.
