The purpose of this research is to find the effect of return on asset, debt to equity
ratio, and growth against dividend payout ratio. The population in this research is
the consumer goods sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX)
during the period 2012-2016. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling.
The number of companies sampled in this research were 16 companies with five
years observation so that the selected sample was 80 observations. This research
uses secondary data in the form of audited financial statements, annual reports
obtained form www.idx.co.id. Data analysis method used is multiple linear
regression analysis method. The result of the research identifies that return on asset
and growth influence the dividend payout ratio while the debt to equity ratio does not
influence the dividend payout ratio.
