Abstract

This employs experimental method. This research aims to figure out the
students‟ ability in analyzing intrinsic elements from youth novels after inquiry
learning model is implemented. This experimental research uses one group pre-test
and pos-test design or one experimental class. The variable of this research is students‟
ability in analyaing intrinsic element of youth novel. The subject of this research is
students (eight graders of Class) at MTs Al-Hidayah Purwasaba. The pre-test is given
before the test post-test given after the treatment. The mean score of the pre-test is
66,84 while the mean score of the post-test is 78,13. In one group of pre-test post-test,
the scores of pre-test and post-test are compared then the hypothesis is tasted. The
result reveal that hypothesis of thitung > ttabel with the level of significance of 0,05 or
5% ttabel = 2,06. It shows that thitung = 4,45 > 2,06. It can be concluded that inquiry
learning model is effective to analyze intrinsic elemens of youth novels for the
students at MTs Al-Hidayah Purwasaba Banjarnegara.
