This research aimed to analyze the defferences between financial performances of
Islamic Banks calculated by income statement approach and value added
approach. The financial ratio used was Return On Assets (ROA), Return On
Equity (ROE), the differences of the net profit and productive assets (LBAP) and
Net Profit Margin (NPM). This research was quantitative research. The object
used in this research was PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia. The population of this
research was the annually financial report of PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia in
2008-2013. The analysis used was descriptive statistic and independent sample ttest.
The result of this research showed that there was significant ratio of ROA,
ROE, LBAP and NPM of PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia in 2008-2013 analyzed by
income statement approach and value added approach. Quantitatively, the ratio
that was measured by value added approach was higher than measured by income
statement approach. It showed that there was the differences between the theory
application used in income statement approach and value added approach, it
resulted the significant different performance analysis represented by the ratio of
ROA, ROE, LBAP and NPM.
