This research aimed to reveal the change, the condition, and the effect of
Japan’s occupancy of Sambeng Kulon Village in 1942-1945. This research was
conducted by using historical method that was testing, analyzing critically the
record and remnants of the past to understand the events occurred. The stage of
historical method were; 1. Heuristic (seeking and finding the source); 2. External
cristicism (authenticity of the source) and Internal criticism (checking credibility
of the source content); 3. Interpretation to the data and 4. Historiography. Those
steps were upported by data collecting instruments for instance interview and
documentation. Researcher also used sociology and political approach. The result
revealed that Japanese arrived at Sambeng Kulon Village in the beginning of
March 1942. In the beginning, their arrival were greeted well by the people of
Sambeng Kulon Village, as time goes people realized that Japanese arrival wast
just to claim land and crops owned by the farmers. The change of Sambeng Kulon
Villagein 1942-1945 was a historic event, it was important and unforgettable by
the people of Sambeng Kulon Village since most of them were taken as Romusha
slaves. They worked day and night and many of them got sick and died. However,
the youth of Sambeng Kulon Village had succeeded to force Japanese out from
their village and defend Sambeng Kulon Village that would be taken by Japanese.
