Abstract
The study entitled Free Poetry Writing Skills Improvement Methods Guided
Exercises In Class VIII Students F SMP N 2 Sokaraja this study aims to describe the
result of an increase in the ability to write poetry free on class VIII Semester II F
Sokaraja SMP N 2, Academic Year 2012/2013 after applying learning methods such
as guided practice.
Classroom Action Research (CAR) is using qualitative methods quantitative,
student observation data were analyzed qualitatively using student activity sheets and
teacher observation. The implementation procedure of this research is to develop an
action plan, action, observation, reflection. Results free poetry writing students,
quantitatively analyzed using descriptive analysis. Application of guided training
methods refers to the activity of teachers in guiding their students.
Based on the analysis of data and discussion of results, it can be concluded that the
application of guided training methods can improve the ability of free poetry writing
class VIII Semester II F SMP N 2 Sokaraja.Peran active teachers may increase the
value of the student prior to the supervised training methods (prasiklus) at 57.74 and
there is an increased subsequent to the method of guided exercises in the first cycle of
75.81 and 88.57 for the second cycle. This suggests that there is an increase in results
after supervised training method of doing prasiklus until the first cycle of 31.30% and
from cycle I to cycle II of 16.83%, a total increase of prasiklus until the second cycle
of 53.37%. Increase students' ability to write free poetry can be seen, both in teaching
and learning as well as through the work of writing poetry freely by each student.
