Abstract
Based on the protection and promotion of human right test in second semester
2009/2010, 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 school years, the student could not reach the
standars of KKM which appied in their school. Also in 2009/2010, 24 of 36 student didn’t
get it menwhile in 2010/2011, 22 of 33 studen also didn’t get it and 2011/2012, 22 of 33
student didn’t get it. This research was aimed to finding out improve the performance
Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) method in the material and the Protection of
Human Rights Enforcement at students of VII E SMP Negeri 2 Sokaraja. This study was
aims to increase motivation and learning achievement of students class VII E SMP N 2
Sokaraja with Student Teams Achievement Divisions material protection and enforcement
of human rights amounting to 33 students. Class Room Action Research was applied
research model. In this research, the model used a class action model of Kurt Lewin
(1946). Data collection method in the form of tests, observations, dokumantasi. Research
procedures were each cycle including planning, implementation, observation, evaluation
and reflection. Qualitative and quantitative analysis is used to data analysis in this study.
Base on the research conclussion that the average value of the quiz in the first cycle by 76
to 79% mastery learning, and then the second cycle the average value of the quiz is 86
with 88% mastery learning. Based on these results can be concluded that Student Teams
Achievement Divisions learning in material protection and promotion of human rights has
enhance learning motivation and achievement of Civic Education.
