Abstract

One component of the school is the teacher. Teachers play a major
role in education, coaching attitudes and behaviors of students, especially
the student discipline. Civics teachers have a role to form a better attitude
as the role of civic education subjects. This research was aimed to finding
out “How Civics teacher's improving discipline student of SMA N 1
Rawalo”. This study aimed to determine the role of teachers in improving
student discipline Civics SMA N 1 Rawalo. This study used the descriptive
method, using quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data collection
methods such as questionnaires, interviews, observation and
documentation. The method of data analysis is data reduction, data
presentation, and verification. Base on the research indicate that the role of
teachers in improving student discipline of SMA N 1 Rawalo as mentors,
role models, supervisors and controllers, although there are still many
obstacles both internal and external. Civics teacher's role in improving
student discipline that is giving a good role models, provide an assessment
of the students' affective. Students of SMAN 1 Rawalo have been disciplined.
Case of indiscipline is still reasonable such as delay, absence without
explanation, did not the home work, and a violation of school attributes.
