Society political participation was being a result from political education
process as an understanding of the political society. The background of the
research are the society condition which is still traditionale and their political
characteristic is decided by a class of power. There were a lackness of citizen’
participation in affecting the decision making and the life of nation. It is provided
by there were so many abstain in a vote as an expression of uninterested society
to political process. This research used qualitative approach. The method was
descriptive. The subject of research were the people in Mendelem village, Belik
sub-district, Pemalang regency. The data was collected by using interview,
documentation, observation, and literature study. Based on the result of research
about society political participation in the election of Mendelem’s headman year
of 2012, it showed that society political participation in voting were increasing
from the recent election. Meanwhile, it was gotten that 1). The process of political
education was done by political publication from many aspects; 2). Community
organizations had a role to give education and understanding of politics to the
people, as a result the society political understanding were increasing in the level
of political participation; 3). A good society political understanding was showed
as a result of political education process; 4). A good society political attitude was
able to conduct the election of Mendelem’s headman with peace and orderly.
