The aim of this research is to find out whether there is any correlation between students’ English achievement and TOEIC result of the twelfth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Purwokerto in academic year 2012/2013 or not.
The method used was descriptive correlation. The population of the research was the twelfth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Purwokerto in academic year 2012/2013 and the number of population was 389 students. In this research the writer took 20% of the population or 78 students to be respondents.
After the data had been analyzed, the writer found that there was a correlation between students’ English achievement and TOEIC result. It can be seen from the result of computation of the correlation analyzed where the r-obtained was 0.625 and the critical value of r-table in the level of significant 95% and number of 78 subject was 0.220. So, the writer could make conclusion that there was a correlation between students’ English achievement and TOEIC result.
