Abstract
The aim of this research was to find out what the teachers‟ perception in English teaching and learning process based on scientific approach. This research used survey research. The subjects of this research were 10 teachers from four different senior high schools in Banyumas that had implemented 2013 Curriculum. Those were SMA N 2 Purwokerto, SMA N 4 Purwokerto, SMA N Banyumas, and SMA N Ajibarang. The techniques of collecting data used questionnaire as the main data which consisted of 14 statements related to scientific approach and interview as supporting data. Questionnaire was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Then, interview was analyzed using qualitative data, namely data reduction, data display and data verification. Based on the analysis result, most teachers had positive perception toward scientific approach in English teaching and learning process. The highest perception was on experimenting (3.7), and the lowest perception was on networking (3.4). The interview result showed that most teachers had good perception towards all step in
