The Act No. 23 of 2014 Article 285 regulates the sources of local revenues. One of local revenue sources is local retribution. Local retribution as local revenue source has crucial role in funding the governance and development as has been included in the Preamble considering point c of the Act No. 28 of 2009 on Regional Tax and Retribution.
This research aimed to determine the role of parking retribution and the obstacles faced by Banyumas local government in collecting parking retribution in Wage market parking area (Purwokerto) in supporting Banyumas local revenues.
The data collection and data analysis were used as the research method, that is through interviews with related objectives. The resource persons conducted the studies on books, literature, legislation, articles that will be analyzed normatively qualitative.
Based on the study of the role of parking retribution on the public road in supporting Banyumas local revenues, it can be concluded that many violations against regional regulations were found in the implementation of parking retribution collection. Furthermore, no strict sanctions were given to those violations. Thus, the role of parking retribution in supporting local revenues has not been maximal.
