This study aimed to figure out the effect of asset structure, firm size,
dividend payout ratio and profitability to capital structure. The
variables in this study were asset structure proxied with SA, firm size
proxied with Ln total assets, dividend payout ratio proxied with DPR,
and profitability proxied with return on asset (ROA), while the
dependent variable used in this research is capital structure Proxied
with Debt to equity ratio (DER). This study was a quantitative type of
research. Secondary data were used in this study with the population
of industrial and chemical manufacturing companies listed in
Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) period 2011-2015. In this study,
purposive sampling was used to obtain 64 companies as samples. The
results of this study indicated that the structure of the asset has a
negative effect on capital structure, firm size does not positively affect
the capital structure dividend payout ratio has a positive effect on
capital structure, and profitability negatively affects the capital
structure.
