Abstract

Background: Sexually transmitted infections was infections that can be transmitted through sexual contact. One of therapy management used antifungal. Irrational treatment could enhance the antifungal resistance. Rational criterias included, the right medicine, right dose, proper indications, appropriate patient, and at the lowest cost to them and always available to their community
Objective: This study aimed to find out the rational percentage in the use of antifungal of the patients with sexually transmitted infections at community health centers at Banyumas district
Methods: Type of research was observational descriptive with cross sectional study and the data was took retrospectively from medical records of patients.
Result: From 112 patients who entered the study population, the average of patients were 25 years old female. The symptoms which is found were a vaginal discharge and cervix discharge with or without a gripes. The results of laboratory proved the existence of candida yeast that is pseudohyphae. Based on the gripes, symptoms which is found, and the laboratory result all patients positively suffering candidiasis vulvavagina and getting nystatin as antifungal therapy.
Conclusion: The use of antifungals as the treatment of sexually transmitted infections at community health centers at banyumas district is based on parameters the right medicine, right dose, proper indications, appropriate patient, and at the lowest cost to them and always available to their community 100% rational.
