The aim of this research was to know the effectiveness of watching
cartoon films towards student’s vocabulary mastery in SMPN I Bukateja in the
academic year 2011/2012.
This research used quasi experimental method. The researcher determined
the eight grade students of SMPN I Bukateja as population. The researcher takes
two classes as the sample consist of 34 students for each class, it is use purposive
sampling. This research was conducted on July ‒ August 2011.
In collecting the data, the researcher, used test as an instrument. The
researcher analyzed the data using t test. After the data has been analyzed, it was
found that the t test result was 2,9184 and the value of t table d.f 66 at the level of
significant 5 % was 2,6524 thus, t test was higher that t table.
It can be concluded that the hypothesis which was stated that cartoon film
was effective for teaching vocabulary to eight grade of SMP N 1 Bukateja was
accepted.
