The research is class action research (CAR) that is title is “Improving
News Writing Ability By Using Authentic Media for The Eight Year Students of
SMP N 7 Purwokerto of 2010 – 2011 Academic Year”.
The research has the aims to improve listening skill to news trhough media
audio othentic of the students of VIII C SMP Negeri 7 Purwokerto in academic
years 2010 – 2011. The research was hold collaborativelly between the research as
practice teacher with the teacher of study as observer. The subject of the research
is the students in VIII C that has total 35 students which contain 17 males and 18
females. The research was hold through two cycles, cycle I and cycle II. Each
cycles have four steps, they are planing, action implementation, action
monitoring, and reflection. The instrument which is used in collecting data used
the test and observation sheet to students and teacher activities. Meanwhile
analisis data with descriptive quantitative and qualitative.
The result of research is there is and improvement in each cycles. In pre
test average value is 61,68 and one reach complete learned 9 students of 25,8 %.
After learning trough audio visual media in cycle I average value increase 68,11
and one reach complete learned 16 students or 45,8 %. The in cycle II average
84,42 % and one reach complete learned 30 students or 85,8 %. So, skill to news
trough media audio ot authentic hentic learning of the students of VIII C SMP
Negeri 7 Purwokerto show that there is an improvement significantly.
