Background: CBIA is an educational method to increase mothers knowledge for
understanding over the counter medicines. The increasing of mothers knowledge
about self medication have benefit to manage drugs in the household with correct.
Objective: this study was aimed to show the effect of implementation CBIA for
increase mother’s knowledge and self medication behavior in some districts on
Kabupaten Banjarnegara.
Methods: The method of this research is aexperimental study with quasy
experimental design. Data was collected by using a questionnaire pre test and post
test
Result: The result showthatthere are mothers knowledge and behavior increase
significantly. For the average score of pre test and post test (6.856to9.598), 41.072
to 47.670).
Conclusion: The CBIA method can increase mothers knowledge and self
medication behavior.
