The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of banana tree game
in teaching speaking at the seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Ajibarang in academic
year 2011/2012.
The research was carried out at the class VII F and VII G of SMP N 2
Ajibarang in academic year 2011/2012. The experiment class was VII F and the
control class was VIII G. The population was 252 students of 9 classes. The data
collection technique used speaking test. To analyze the data, the writer used t-test.
The computation showed that t-test was higher that t-table (3. 13 > 1.67). It
means that the hypothesis was accepted and it can be stated that banana tree game
was effective in teaching speaking at the seventh grade students of SMP N 2
Ajibarang in academic year 2011/2012.
