This research discusses about the discourse’s tool, grammatical cohesion
in Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk Novel The objective of this research is to explain
about Grammatical Cohesion in Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel by Ahmad
Tohari,both in English and Javanese Version.
The type of this research is qualitative research. The data is taken from
“Rongggeng Dukuh Paruk” Novel in English and Javanese Language. The
researcher chooses purposive sampling as the technique of taking the sample that
means the processs of selecting the sample is based on the need of the researcher
Based on the analysis, the research shows that grammatical cohesion found
in both “ Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk Novel are reference, substitution , ellipsis and
conjunction. Many variations of Reference of Pronoun and temporal conjunction
can be found in Javanese version.
