This research is aimed to know the realization of personal pronouns of the
Edensor Indonesia version and its translation. Moreover, it also determines the
effect of realization of the meaning and to know the causes of realization of
personal pronouns.
This research is in the field of qualitative research. It means that the data
of this research are taken from Edensor novel, both Indonesia version and English.
The researcher collects the data by using Anconc 3.2.3 software. Then, the first
personal pronouns and second personal pronouns are taken as the data, both
singular and plural.
From all the data analysis, the researcher makes three conclusions that
relate to the purpose of the research. The first is thatthe realization of first singular
personal pronouns saya and aku are I as subject, me as object and my as
possessive pronoun. Then the realization of first plural personal pronouns kita and
kami are we as subject, us as object, and our as possessive pronouns. And then the
realization of second singular personal pronouns kamu, anda, engkau, kau and
second plural personal pronoun kalian are you as subject and object, your as
possessive pronoun.The second, all realization gives the same understanding and
meaning to the readers. So, they can feel the translation result as the original
work. They can also know the rules of the story and when the event occurs in the
story.Thethird, the realization occurs because the translation result uses idiomatic
translation to convey the meaning to the readers. So, the readers have the same
feeling when they read the original work and the translation work. Besides that,
the grammatical equivalent also takes a part in translation work. It can show about
the time of the event.
