Abstract

This study aims to explore students' perceptions of DeepL for English translation and identify the challenges they face in using DeepL. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey method by distributing a closed-ended questionnaire to 36 students. The results show that 76.41% of students have a positive perception of DeepL in terms of its usefulness and ease of use. Additionally, 61.55% of students believe there are still challenges in using DeepL, such as difficulties in translating contextual sentences, changes in the meaning of the original text, and the potential for dependency. Overall, students view DeepL as a useful tool in assisting with their academic needs, although they still believe in the challenges associated with its use.
