Within the Indonesian educational context, character development has emerged as a central priority, particularly in terms of instilling attitudes and behaviors that are congruent with Islamic teachings and cultural norms. As an
institution committed to Islamic values, Muhammadiyah Junior High School Sampang Cilacap endeavors to integrate these principles into all facets of its educational activities.
This study employs a qualitative research design with a field-based approach. Data were gathered through a combination of interviews, observations, and documentation, with analysis conducted using the Miles and Huberman
framework. The results obtained from this study are: 1) Forms of Islamic cultural development activities at SMP Muhammadiyah Sampang Cilacap: dhuha study with public speaking training, female studies, 5S habituation, and Al-Qur'an basecamp. The implementation of Islamic culture as religious character development includes public speaking training, provision in female studies, and application of 5. 2) Steps in building students' religious character are: commitment and policy of the principal, habituation, approach and role model 3) Supporting factors in this study
are superior human resources and adequate facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor is the family and community background of students who are not yet fully civilized.
