Abstract

This study investigates students' attitudes toward the use of podcasts in speaking courses. The participants were eighth-semester students enrolled in the English Language Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) during the 2020 academic year. A mixed-method research design was employed, utilizing both a survey and interviews for data collection. The survey involved 20 respondents selected through purposive sampling, while in-depth interviews were conducted with five respondents. Data analysis was performed using descriptive frequency analysis, emphasizing the distribution of responses to the questionnaire items. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents demonstrated positive attitudes toward the integration of podcasts in their speaking courses, with some participants reporting improvements in their speaking skills as a result of podcast use.
