Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of learning media using wordwall to increase student learning motivation and analyze significant differences in student learning outcomes in social studies subjects before and after using wordwall learning media. This type of research is experimental. The data in this research are the results of a questionnaire on learning motivation and the use of Wordwall in learning activities as well as the learning outcomes of class IX students at SMP Negeri 2 Sokaraja for the 2023/2024 academic year. The data sources in this research are a learning motivation questionnaire, a wordwall utilization questionnaire, knowledge values, skills values and attitude values. Data collection techniques used observation techniques, questionnaires and learning evaluation. The instruments used were a learning motivation questionnaire and a questionnaire on the use of wordwalls in learning activities. Data analysis techniques used validity and reliability tests for questionnaires with product moment correlation and the N Gain test. The results of this research show that wordwall media is very effective in increasing student learning motivation. The class score that uses PowerPoint media is in the ineffective category for student learning motivation, with a percentage of 67.23% out of 100%. Based on the results of the N-Gain Score Test, it can be concluded that the use of wordwall learning media causes a significant difference in increasing the learning motivation of social studies students in the experimental class and the control class. Apart from there being a significant difference in learning motivation, the use of wordwall learning media also produces a significant influence on learning outcomes The results of the analysis using the N gain test on learning outcome variables obtained a minimum score percentage in the control class of 60.78%, while in the experimental class the minimum score percentage was 70.1%. The maximum percentage score obtained in the control class was 72.89% and in the experimental class it was 94.56%. The average percentage score obtained in the control class was 69.53% and in the experimental class was 89.27%. Data analysis using the N-gain Score Test shows that the class score reached a score of 88.57% out of 100%, which shows that wordwall media is very effective in increasing student learning motivation. The class score that uses PowerPoint media is in the ineffective category for student learning motivation, with a score of 67.23% out of 100%. The N-Gain Score Test concluded that the use of wordwall learning media was very effective in increasing social studies students' learning motivation. On the other hand, students who do not use wordwall learning media do not experience the same level of significance in terms of learning motivation. This research can be implicated in classroom learning activities to improve learning motivation and student learning outcomes. Classroom learning should implement more active and interactive learning activities by utilizing the latest technology so that learning provides a pleasant impression for students.
