Abstract

ThisstudywasconductedintheKaryaHarapanFarmersGroupinGunungsariVillage,Pulosaridistrict,Pemalang Regency, from May to July 2024. The objective of this research is to determine the production costs, income, feasibility, and performance of Arabica coffee farming by analyzing internal and external factors within aone-year production period in 2023 at the Karya Harapan Farmers Group in Gunungsari Village, Pulosari district,Pemalang Regency. The method used in this study is descriptive with both qualitative and quantitativeapproaches, utilizing primary and secondary data. The sampling technique employed is a census, involving all 43members of the Karya Harapan Farmers Group engaged in Arabica coffee farming as respondents. The researchresults indicate that the average production cost incurred by respondent farmers for Arabica coffee farming is IDR690,781 per production year, while the average income of Arabica coffee farming among respondent farmers inthe Karya Harapan Farmers Group is IDR 5,813,372 per production year. The feasibility of Arabica coffee farming, measured using the R/C Ratio, yields a value of 8.41. Since the R/C Ratio is greater than 1, the business isconsidered economically viable. The BEP (Break-Even Point) price for Arabica coffee farming is IDR 1,190/kg,whereas the selling price is IDR 11,581/kg, indicating that the business is profitable. The BEP for production is 12kg per year, while the average production is 505.5 kg per year, making the farming activity profitable. TheperformanceofArabicacoffeefarmingisanalyzedbasedoninternalfactors, includingtheproductiveagegroupof coffeefarmers, loweducationlevels, extensivefarming experience, familyresponsibilities consistingofspouses, children, and relatives living together, and funding sourced from both personal and borrowed capital. External factors include the use of Lini S Arabica coffee varieties, the application of two types of fertilizers, the use of a single type of pesticide, land areas ranging from 0.02 to 1 hectare, labor sourced both from within and outsidethe family, harvest yields varying among farmers depending on land area and number of coffee trees, andmarketing through direct sales to middlemen in fresh form.
