Abstract
This study was conducted in Karanganyar Village, Kalibening District,
Banjarnegara Regency. The research aims to understand the profile of coffee
farmers in Karanganyar Village and agricultural extension officers in Kalibening
District, to assess the condition of coffee farming in Karanganyar Village, to
examine the process of agricultural extension activities related to coffee farming
in Karanganyar Village, and to evaluate the effectiveness of these extension
activities. A qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis method was used,
with sample collection carried out using simple random sampling, resulting in 36
respondents.
The findings of the study are as follows: 1) The average age of the
respondent coffee farmers is 57.4 years. Most of the farmers are male and have an
elementary school education. The average number of dependents per family is
2.58. The majority of respondents are primarily engaged in farming and do not
have secondary occupations. 2) The coffee farmers own an average land area of
0.0775 hectares and have an average farming experience of 26.8 years. The
average production of wet coffee beans is 428.61 kg/year, and most farmers have
implemented proper coffee cultivation techniques. A total of 41.66% of farmers
reported an increase in production after participating in extension activities, and
55.55% stated they were able to manage their farming operations better after
attending the coffee agricultural extension activities. 3) The extension activities
are regularly conducted every 35 days in group settings, rotating at the homes of
different villagers. The topics covered include coffee farming from upstream to
downstream, delivered through question-and-answer sessions or hands-on
practice. The media used include projectors and practical materials. 4) The coffee
agricultural extension activities in Karanganyar Village, Kalibening District,
Banjarnegara Regency, scored 2.91, placing them in the effective category.
