Abstract
Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata L.) is a staple food crop, ranking third in importance after wheat and rice. It is valued not only for its sweetness but also for its high carbohydrate, protein, vitamin, and sugar content. Enhancing sweet corn production can be achieved through fertilization, with organic fertilizers needing to be complemented by inorganic ones. The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth and yield of sweet corn influenced by the application of a combination of kasgot and NPK fertilizers. This research was conducted from October 2023 to January 2024 at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture and Fisheries, Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto. The study utilized a two-factor Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 16 treatment combinations, each replicated three times, with five samples per treatment. The kasgot treatments were K0 = 0 tons/ha, K1 = 10 tons/ha, K2 = 20 tons/ha, K3 = 30 tons/ha, and the NPK treatments were N0 = 0 kg/ha, N1 = 150 kg/ha, N2 = 200 kg/ha, N3 = 300 kg/ha. Data analysis was performed using ANOVA followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% significance level. The results indicated that the combination of kasgot and NPK treatments had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, leaf area index, leaf area ratio, relative leaf growth rate, leaf area index, net assimilation rate, plant growth rate, cob diameter with husk, cob diameter without husk, cob length, cob weight with husk, and cob weight without husk.
