Boarding students and non-boarding students have differences that can be
seen in their activities, where boarding students have several rules that apply
while non-boarding students tend to be free in their activities. Interest in learning
is a feeling of inclination towards an activity with feelings of pleasure and liking
without any compulsion. So researchers are interested in seeing the correlation
between boarding students and non-boarding students at SMK Muhammadiyah
Majenang. The aim of this research is to determine the correlation between
boarding students and non-boarding students in their interest in studying Islamic
religious education at SMK Muhammadiyah Majenang, Cilacap district, academic
year 2023/2024.
This research is quantitative research using statistical formulas,
questionnaire data collection techniques, observation and documentation. The
subjects of this research consisted of 100 students, consisting of 50 Boarding
School students and 50 Non-Boarding School students. The data collection
technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires in the form of questions
regarding interest in studying Islamic religious education. The data analysis
technique uses the product moment correlation test and multiple linear regression
analysis to calculate the results of this research.
The results of the research show that there is a correlation between
boarding students and non-boarding students in their interest in studying Islamic
religious education at Muhmmadiyah Majenang Vocational School, Cilacap
Regency for the 2023/2024 academic year. This is proven by data analysis which
shows that the calculated R is 0.289 > from the R table 0.284 with n = 48 with a
5% significance of 0.284 and a 1% significance of 0.368. Which means Ha is
accepted and H0 is rejected where there is a correlation between boarding
students and non-boarding students in their interest in studying Islamic religious
education at Muhmmadiyah Majenang Vocational School, Cilacap Regency,
academic year 2023/2024.
