Abstract
Vaname shrimp is one of the commodities that are in great demand for
cultivation. This species of shell can live in both salt and saltwater. The problems
that are often found during the cultivation of this vaname shell are pests and
diseases that can lead to decreased yields and even failure to harvest. The role of
an expert is very much needed, but for the availability of experts still belongs to
little especially in remote areas. The expert system becomes one of the solutions in
identifying or diagnosing the disease that attacks the vaname shrimp, then from it
needs to be produced a system of expert diagnosis of the disease of vaname. The
methods used in this expert system are Forward Chaining as a conclusion drawer
and Certainty Factor to overcome uncertainty. The results of the diagnosis of the
disease, obtained results that matched the expectations. Results of the test of the
usefulness or usefulness using the SUS (System Usability Scale), the system of
specialists diagnosing the disease of the vaname shrimp obtain an average score of
80, which belongs to the category of good. It suggests that this system can help
shrimp growers in diagnosing a disease that attacks shrimps.
