Sepsis is a cause of death in children that is quite high in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) this can lead to high treatment costs. This study aims to evaluate the use of antibiotics in pediatric sepsis patients at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital using the Gyssens method and relate it to therapeutic outcomes. Method: The method used is a descriptive analytical study using prospective data. Data were collected to assess the appropriateness of antibiotic use based on the Gyssens criteria and examine its relationship to therapeutic outcomes. Results: The incidence of sepsis was obtained based on gender, 10 patients (55.6%) of pediatric sepsis were male while 8 patients (44.6%) of pediatric sepsis were female. The results obtained were 13 antibiotic prescriptions (23.6%) included in category IIA which are presented in the table above. Conclusion: The results of the evaluation of antibiotic use in pediatric sepsis patients at RSUD. Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto for the period April-June 2024 using the Gyssens method obtained category 0 for 42 prescriptions (76.4%). There is no relationship between antibiotic use in sepsis patients that have been analyzed using the Gyssens method and the clinical outcome of sepsis patients at RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto.
