Abstract

The fine motor skills of students in Group B2 (second-year students) at TK (Kindergarten) Pertiwi Padek, especially in cutting and pasting, are still below the expectations of the teacher. This is due to fear or hesitation in using scissors and holding glue. However, in human development, physical motor development plays an equally important role as cognitive development, social behavior, and personality. Cutting and pasting activities aim to enhance children's fine motor skills. The method used to improve children's fine motor skills is through demonstration and task assignment. The benefits of developing children's fine motor skills include training hand-eye coordination, and concentration, boosting self-confidence, improving writing fluency, and expressive expression, and sharpening cognitive skills. This study employed action research with the teacher as the researcher, using a two-round early spiral reflection system, each round consisting of action plan development, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection methods included observation, and data analysis used descriptive quantitative techniques, where the research's success was deemed achieved if the observation sheets for teacher activities, student activities, and children's fine motor skills reached 80%. The target of this study was students in Group B2 at Pertiwi Padek Kindergarten. The analysis results showed that through cutting and pasting, students were able to improve their fine motor skills. In cycle I, this improvement was 33%, with three children (20%) in the lowest category, four children (27%) in the moderate category, five children (33%) in the high category, and three children (20%) in the very high category. In cycle II, there was a\ significant increase to 87%, with no children in the lowest category, two children (13%) in the moderate category, seven children (47%) in the high category, and six children (40%) in the very high category. In conclusion, through cutting and pasting, children's fine motor skills in Group B2 at TK Pertiwi Padek can be improved.
